Biden's Speech on UAP Events Leaves Public with More Questions than Answers

Joe Biden's recent speech regarding the UAP events that have been making headlines for the past few days has been met with mixed reactions. While he confirmed that the government still does not have any information on what the three objects that were recently shot down are, he did mention that current intelligence suggests they did not belong to any foreign adversary and that they are potentially thought to be related to a private entity for research, recreation or weather monitoring.

The speech has left many people wondering why, if the UAPs are thought to have such a benign purpose, the government has not shared the footage obtained by the military craft used to shoot down these objects. Speculation rightly builds as to whether there is more information that is being kept from the public.

Senator Blumenthal has also called for the government to release more information on these events. He stated on record that “the American people should be given more information. They're ready for it. They can handle it. And they need and deserve to know it.”  This sentiment is shared by many, and once again highlights the conflicting approach towards the UAP topic from various voices in government and a need for greater transparency.

Despite the lack of concrete information regarding recent events, Christopher Mellon, the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, pointed out on Twitter that there is still cause for celebration. “All of us advocating greater attention to monitoring U.S. airspace now have 100 allies in the U.S. Senate. Probably another 435 in the House. A great day for national security and perhaps a great day for science as well.”

While overall today’s address from Biden was likely disappointing for many, it seems everyone is in agreement regarding one thing - it is crucial that the government takes a proactive approach in investigating UAP and rather than brushing these events off as unimportant, irrelevant or worse, untrue, it is time for the government to work towards finding answers.
